Forget your perfect offering. There's a crack in everything; that's how the light gets in.
I first heard this song a year ago at a yoga therapy workshop I attended with Sundari Lucey. I loved it! When I contemplated adding a blog to my newly developed website, I thought what do I have to offer? I'm not a writer, what will I write about? Then I remembered these lyrics and thought, maybe I do have something to offer. It may not be perfect, but it will be from my heart.
Last weekend Sundari came to Missoula for a Fall Equinox yoga workshop, it had been almost a year since I last saw her. Sundari is an eloquent and graceful teacher, I love her and her way of teaching. Julie Rae and I started planning this yoga workshop 6 months ago, all of the planning culminated last weekend at the Downtown Dance Collective. Missoula was in her usual September form, offering us big blue skies and 85 degree days. We had 30 people sign up for the workshop, it was exciting to have so many friends welcome Sundari in her debut teaching in Missoula. It was the first time a Certified Anusara Yoga® teacher had been in Missoula and taught a workshop in a long time. I have traveled many miles the past few years to attend workshops and training's. This workshop was a dream come true! I got to stay in my hometown, sleep in my own bed, it was an incredible blessing. Sundari's teaching always brings profound shifts into my life and this weekend was no different! I always see wonderful changes in my body and practice during these workshops, but this time there was an interesting and different shift that happened. Sundari mentioned that we needed to have a website in Missoula that could support our efforts in bringing Anusara Yoga® to Missoula. I immediately knew that it was time for me to take action! I have been contemplating making changes to my "yoga business" and decided that now is the time. Enter in River City Yoga, a name I have had in the back of my mind for quite some time now. I always thought, when I open a studio I will name it "River City Yoga." While a studio isn't in my immediate future, I decided why wait?
This is my perfect offering... By serving our community through my gifts, to be a source of inspiration, to open the hearts of others, to offer what is in my heart.
